some people live by that “apple a day keeps the doctor away” saying…. just replace the word apple with avocado and you’ve pretty much got me figured out!
I have always been a GIANT fan of cooking & photography…but I wasn’t inspired to start sharing what I was making at home until I found Gaby Dalkin on instagram. Her website WhatsGabyCooking is easy to read & has more incredible recipes than I can count. Follow her on snapchat to see her weekly food “snapisodes’. Majority of the recipes I made when I first began food photography were inspired by her.
Naturally, when your favorite food blogger releases her own line of of salsas with Williams-Sonoma, you order all of them and try it out IMMEDIATELY! They definitely did not disappoint!
The Chipotle Tomato Salsa was used by the man as a topping to his shrimp tacos last night, I used the tomatillo salsa as a dip with my chips & the guacamole starter is what inspired todays post. Plus, Cinco De Mayo is next week so this post couldn’t come at a better time!
I make homemade guacamole at least once a week, my guy LOVES him some fresh guacamole. But making it constantly takes effort and when I am in a rush it can be a time suck. Gaby’s Guacamole Starter is the EASIEST way to knock out fresh guacamole at home in 5 minutes and the flavor is unreal!
The guacamole can be made at home in 3 easy steps:
- Slice avocado in half & into cubes & mash into a bowl
- Pour an ample amount of Gaby’s Guacamole Starter into the bowl & mix
It is that simple!

Gaby’s Guacamole Starter has hints of garlic, chiles & lime that create an authentic guacamole taste so good you will think you are in Mexico eating it on the beach. No joke, it is that good!
Gaby’s Guacamole is already on the list of things to make for Cinco De Mayo next week. However, I am already having to order another Starter to keep up with the guacamole demand at the house.
Use this Guacamole Starter to create the best authentic guacamole you have ever had!
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1.5 tbsp Gaby's Guacamole Starter
- a pinch of salt for taste
Cut avocado in half & using knife cut small slices both horizontally and vertically.
Scoop avocado out of shell and into bowl, mash generously.
Add guacamole starter into bowl and mix until combined.
Sprinkle on a little salt for taste. ENJOY!
To preserve Guacamole:
- store in air tight container for up to 5 days in refrigerator
