Happy New Years Friends!
While I am not normally someone that talked about my New Years Resolutions..or accomplishes them (I usually forget them by February 1st), this year I want it to be different.
2017 was an amazing year! I started SouthernParm, went on amazing trips, made new friends & memories to last a lifetime. But… I was also all over the place. I would change a recipe last minute, wait until last minute to finish projects for work & forgot to take time for myself.
In an effort to hold myself accountable, I am sharing my New Years Resolutions with you & also some tips/tricks on how I am going to make 2018 my best year yet!
2018 is the year of Organization!
This year I want to be the best me. To do that I have to get organized so that when things come my way, I can say yes to more opportunities without getting overwhelmed. I want to find balance in all the balls I am constantly juggling so that I stop spending time stressing on the small things & allow myself to enjoy life to its fullest!
So here are my New Years Resolutions, they are out there for the world to see & keep my accountable!
Out of all my New Years Resolutions, #7 is one of the most important!
#7 holds the key to starting my year on the right path. If I can get my work, personal and blog lives in order, then the rest will fall into place!
2018 is going to be a busy year- I will be on the board of my Junior League, am hosting 2 cooking classes just in February, took a promotion within my company, have so many recipes I want to make & tons of trips planned. I need to be as organized as possible to not only keep all the dates in order but also make sure that I take time for myself along the way.
I wanted to share some of my favorite planners, notepads & organization materials with you so no matter how you like to plan, you can find something that works for you!
New Year, New Planner:
The weekly planner is usually my go to planner because 1) I don’t have enough going on to need a daily planner & 2) I have too much going on for a monthly planner. Weeklies also give me the ability to see my full week in one glance which is necessary when I plan out blog posts & work meetings.
This year I spent a lot of time scouring through planners, here are a few of my favorites:
1. kiki.K weekly planner 2. Kate Spade 17 month Planner 3. Bando 17 Month Planner 4. Emily Ley Planner
Make your list & check it twice:
Because my to do list is ever evolving, I also have an extra notepad that I write down my tasks on so that I can check them off as I go.
If you are also a habitual To Do List writer, these are for you:
Notebooks, Pretty Pens & Other:
Raise your hand if you go to Target 3 or more times a year to buy new pens?
No, only me? Okay, cool.
I will give myself some credit though, I literally loose a pen or two a week in my job. My position requires that I have people sign a sheet every time we eat lunch together & most days someone picks up my pen on accident so I am constantly replacing them.
Here are a few of my favorite miscellaneous organization items:
- Classic Hardcover Notebook 2. Sharpie Pens 3. kikki.K Hardcover Journal 4. Bando Planner Packet 5. Magnolia Washi Tape 6. STAEDTLER Marker Pen
2018, I am excited to see what you have in store!
ENJOY!
Are the cooking classes you’re hosting next month open to anyone? If so, I’ll be in town President’s Day weekend if one happens to be during that time. I’d love to go and meet you! 🙂
Hey! They are open to anyone if there are still spots left. The clsss is at Southern Home & kitchen in Winston on Feb 1 & 10th
Ahhh!! I’ll be there a week after your second class! 🙁 Hopefully I can catch one sometime. It sounds so fun!!
