Valentine’s Day Cheesy Breakfast Biscuit

Food is symbolic of love when words are inadequate.

-Alan D. Wolflet

Everyone deserves a little love on Valentine’s Day right? And if you aren’t sure how to show your person how you feel about them, why not do it with a delicious meal/treat!?!

While Ryan and I don’t really do the whole flowers/gifts/dinner thing on February 14th, we do usually celebrate our own way….with breakfast.

Last year, I woke up early and grabbed us heart shaped chicken biscuits from Chick-fil-a, but this year I wanted to do something different. We have been dating long enough for me to know the way to his heart and that is through his stomach.

He loves all things breakfast food/sweets so I decided to make the ULTIMATE cheesy breakfast biscuit for him this Valentine’s Day. If you have a significant other (or even a friend) that loves breakfast food, you will definitely want to make them this biscuit on February 14th. It is easy to make & you will look like you spent the entire morning slaving away in the kitchen…when it really only took you 15 minutes to make!

How to make this Cheesy Breakfast Biscuit:

Begin by preheating your oven to 375 degrees.

Next pull out a biscuit.

Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut the biscuit and remove excess dough.

Place the biscuit on a non-stick baking sheet & cook for 10-12 minutes until your biscuit is golden brown.

PRO TIP: You can use a canned biscuit or homemade. If you only need to use 1-2 of your canned biscuits but more come in a pack, simply place the uncooked biscuits in a ziplock bag with a little squirt of water to keep them moist. They cook exactly the same & don’t go to waste!!

While your biscuit is in the oven, it is time to get together the other parts of the sandwich.

To do this, slice 1 piece of bacon in half and cook it in a non-stick frying pan until crispy.

Slice one thick piece of tomato & get your cheese/egg out of the refrigerator.

When your biscuit is ready, remove it from the oven.

Cut or pull your biscuit in half & place the bottom back on to the baking sheet. Place a generous amount of cheese on top of the biscuit & put it back in the oven to melt.

While your biscuit is back in the oven, it is time to cook your egg.

To do this, crack an egg into the frying pan you used for your bacon. (I didn’t wipe off my frying pan, instead I used the bacon grease instead of butter to fry the egg).

Cook the egg on medium heat until the whites begin to show. Crack salt and pepper over the egg then place a lid over the frying pan to finish frying.

To assemble your biscuit: place your tomato slice on top of the melted cheese followed by your bacon.

When your egg is finished frying, carefully remove it from the frying pan and place it on top of your bacon.
