  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 tbsp yeast, active
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 cup bread flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, divided

Part 1

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

  2. Into a stand mixer add 1/4 cup melted butter, warm milk, yeast, honey, salt and egg.

  3. Using a whisk or the paddle attachment, lightly incorporate all the ingredients.

  4. Attach the dough hook to the mixer & turn to medium speed. Begin adding in flour 1/2 cup at a time until all mixed in.

  5. Mix the dough on high for 2 minutes. Dough should be slightly sticky but not sticking to the edges of the bowl.

  6. Add the dough to a greased oven safe bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel/cheese cloth.

  7. Turn off oven and add the greased bowl. Allow dough to rise in the oven for 10 minutes.

Part 2

  1. Remove bowl from oven. Again, preheat oven to 200 degrees.

  2. Place dough onto a lightly floured surface. Using a bench scraper divide dough into 12 equal pieces. Form dough into 12 tight balls.

  3. Place rolls onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Cover again with kitchen towel.

  4. Turn off oven and place baking sheet back into oven. Allow rolls to rise for 15 minutes.

Part 3

  1. Remove baking sheet from oven. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  2. When oven is ready, remove kitchen cloth from baking sheet and place back into oven.

  3. Cook rolls for 10 minutes until golden brown on top.

  4. When rolls are ready, remove from oven. Melt remaining 1/4 cup of butter.

  5. Apply melted butter onto dinner rolls with a pastry brush, serve & enjoy!
