The Masters- The Spiked Stand 12

The Masters is more like a vast Edwardian garden party than a golf tournament.

-Alistair Cooke

So I have a personal confession…I don’t really like egg salad. Something about cold eggs mashed between bread just doesn’t do it for me. To alienate myself even more…I also don’t like pimento cheese sandwiches OR sweet tea.

I know, I am basically the worst Southerner of all time.

Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE pimento cheese. Put it on top of a burger or use it as a dip and I will be right there eating half a carton by myself. But I just don’t do plain pimento cheese on bread. (And we can get into the sweet tea thing another time, let’s just say my love for all things Diet Mountain Dew takes up majority of my beverage consumption when I am not drinking water.)

Anyways, the Master’s is this week, and even if I don’t enjoy the traditional Master’s food it doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy a little known gem that sits at Stand 12.

If you haven’t heard about the Stand 12 drink, you are missing out. Imagine a hot, sweaty day on the golf course & all you want is to be hydrated. This drink hydrates & tastes like candy at the same time. It is a unique drink you can only find in Augusta, until now. I decided to put my spin on the Stand 12 just in time for you to pour a cocktail & watch Tiger pull a crazy comeback this weekend. I give you the Spiked Stand 12!

How to make the Spiked Stand 12:

To begin, set out 3-4 drink glasses & fill them with ice.

Next, add pink lemonade into each glass until about 1/3-1/2 full.

Next, add about 2 ounces of sprite to each glass.

Top with 2 ounces of your clear liquor of choice (either vodka or rum).

Finally (and this is the most important part), to create an ombre effect, take a spoon and flip it upside down. Pour the powerade over top the spoon. This allows the powerade to flow evenly into the glass so it does not mix the colors.

(You can tell from the pictures below that I mastered this technique by the 2nd set of cocktails I made, whoops!)

Garnish each glass with a cute Masters flag or lemon slice. Serve & enjoy!

The Spiked Stand 12 will be the perfect party cocktail this weekend while you watch the Masters.

It is light, tastes delicious & will hydrate you while it also gives you a little buzz. Is there anything better? I didn’t think so!

Have a great Master’s weekend friends!

ENJOY!
