It doesn’t matter how old you are, buying snacks for a road trip should always look like an unsupervised 9 year-old was given $100.

Can one really go on a road trip without multiple snacks to eat while you drive? Hell no!
That would be like going to a Mexican restaurant and not eating any chips and salsa as you wait for your meal to come. It’s sac-religious!
Last weekend, we drove to Washington DC for the weekend. I had never been, one of my college best friends lives there & Ryan and I wanted to take one last trip before the summer comes to a close so we couldn’t think of a better place to go.
Before we left, I was recipe testing for a new tailgate/football party snack, so I brought it with me on the trip. I posted about it on my Instagram stories & had so many of you ask for the recipe that I decided to share it with you ASAP. My Alabama Firecrackers are the perfect road trip, tailgate or party snack you never knew you were missing & I can’t wait to share the recipe with you!

How to make Alabama Firecrackers:
To make this delicious snack, first preheat the oven to 275 degrees.

Grab a small bowl and add 1 tbsp garlic powder, italian seasoning & red pepper flakes.

Next, add in 1/3 cup of vegetable oil & 1 packet of Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch mix.

Mix all of your wet ingredients together to create your “firecracker” sauce.

Next, grab a larger bowl and add in 2 cups of mini saltines, mini goldfish & oyster crackers each.

Add in your “firecracker sauce” & mix everything together until all of your crackers are well coated.

Place your Alabama Firecrackers onto a large non-stick baking sheet & bake them in the oven for 10 minutes. Flip/mix up your crackers halfway through the baking process.

When your crackers are ready, remove them from the oven. Allow to cool then serve & enjoy!

These Alabama Firecrackers truly live up to their name. They are spicy but leave you wanting more. Whether you are on a road trip, at a football tailgate or having a party with friends, these crackers will always be a hit. You will find yourself going back for handfuls at a time!
