I’m for anything that gets you through the night, be it prayer, tranquilizers, or a bottle of Jack Daniels.
-Frank Sinatra
Jack Daniels, aka that smooth dark liquor that inspires country singers and Rat Pack actor alike to talk about how it changed their life. (Don’t worry Eric Church, it has kicked my ass a couple times too).
Fun fact of the day: I named both of my fur babies after my favorite alcoholic beverages…yes I am super classy.
My white lab Miller after my favorite beer Miller Lite (I’m a classy beer drinker, I know). When my second was adopted, he clearly had to have a beverage name too, it was only right. Jack & Cherry Coke is both mine & R’s favorite weekend drink so Jack was picked almost immediately for the new puppy.
Unfortunately the name didn’t fit his wild crazy puppy personality so he was renamed Charlie after about 3 days of coming home. I tried hard to make Jack stick, but he is definitely a Charlie so we let those dreams go.
The love for whiskey is still there though and I am always looking for a fun new way to spice up the classics. With the weather creeping up in the 80’s, frozen drinks have become more popular around my house so the Jack and Cherry Coke slushies are making their way into my blender.
Not only is it incredibly refreshing, but it is a nice change up from a margarita or daquiri on a hot day.
How to make these simple Jack and Cherry Coke Slushies:
To make this perfect drink you need 4 ingredients-
- Jack Daniels
- Cherry Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Cherry Coke, etc
- Ice
- Maraschino Cherries (optional)
The key is the frozen Cherry Coke ice cubes. You can make them ahead of time (a day, a few hours or even a week) & have them waiting for the weekend!
Once your cherry coke ice cubes are frozen, remove them from the tray and place them into your blender.
Next add in your ice.
**The extra ice is optional. I like my drink to be thicker so I add the extra ice to help maintain the slushie as long as possible.
Add your whiskey next. You can add as much or little as you want, typically I go with the general rule of 1 shot per personal drink.
Finally, blend your drink until a slushie consistency is met. You will want this thick enough to taste like a slushie, but soft enough to drink through a straw. If you make it too thick on accident, simply add a little extra cherry coke and reblend.
Pour your Jack and Cherry Coke Slushie into a tumbler, top with a few cherries, serve & enjoy!
The best part of this drink is you can make it for everyone in your house (obviously sans whiskey for the children)…I mean who doesn’t love a caffeinated slushie?
Whether you make Jack and Diet Coke Slushies, Coke Slushies or Jack and Cherry Coke Slushies like I did, there won’t be a disappointed person in the house after consuming it!
ENJOY!

- 1/2 bottle diet coke, 12oz
- 1/2 cup ice
- 2 oz Jack Daniels
-
Pour Coke product into ice cube tray & freeze. Best if overnight so it has plenty of time to harden.
-
Into blender add entire tray of diet coke cubes, 1/2 cup of ice and 2 oz Jack Daniels (more if preferred)
-
Blend until slushie consistency. Scrape down sides of blender at least once or twice to ensure all gets blended in.
-
Pour into glass. Add a straw & ENJOY!
This recipe is incredible versatile. You can make it with:
- Cherry Coke
- Diet Coke
- Coke
- Diet Coke Lime
- Caffeine Free Coke
- Coke Zero
- Cherry Coke Zero
Thanks, great article.
I love that you named your dog Miller! My puppers, a St. Bernard, is named Kate Winslet. She fancy af, as well. lol.
I think this is a fine drink. I tend to have a few different whiskeys in my liquor cabinet at any given time, but there will always be that big black bottle of JD in there somewhere! I like the brand, the company, and will use Jack Daniels as a mixer any day of the week!
